A Microsoft Word macro that creates a PDF file for a specified text object. Note: This macro could be used to create a variety of output formats, not only PDF. Word should be opened for the insertion of the text. Example: This macro can be used to generate a book document that contains all the tables in a spreadsheet.

Set the active shape object to the table in the spreadsheet. The table is the text object that will be placed in the document. Word must be opened for the insertion of the text.

On the Insert tab, click on Table.

In the Shape and Table options section, click on the Create Outline button.

In the Word Options window, make sure that the Create Outlines checkbox is selected, and click OK.

In the Create Outline dialog box, select the option that will produce the desired PDF output, e.g. 3-column.

Click OK to create the outline.

In the Word Options window, click OK.

Fatty liver disease (FLD) is diagnosed by morphological and biochemical alterations associated with hepatocyte steatosis. Although many studies have investigated ultrasonographic (US) parameters of liver fatty infiltration, none have reported the magnitude of their diagnostic power for FLD across different body sites. To determine the US diagnostic accuracy of the diameter measurements obtained from the liver, spleen, subcutaneous and subcostal areas for FLD. Data were obtained from 61 adult patients with FLD (16 alcoholic, 34 non-alcoholic and 11 with combined FLD) and 87 controls. The control group comprised 30 patients with viral hepatitis, 20 with steatosis, and 37 without liver disease. The US measurements were performed by a single examiner using a 5-10 MHz convex probe. The percentage of liver steatosis was determined by US with an Aplio500 device, and ALT and gamma-GT were measured by enzymatic kits. The diagnostic accuracy of FLD was determined by assessing the sensitivity and specificity of the different US parameters, and by comparing the area under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUCs) among different body sites. The AUC was significantly higher for the spleen than for the liver for the diagnosis of alcoholic FLD. The AUCs for the subcutaneous and subcostal areas were significantly lower than those for the liver, with the latter demonstrating significantly higher sensitivity and specificity (P < 0.05). The subcutaneous area was the least accurate indicator of FLD, while the liver was the most accurate. The best sensitivity and specificity were achieved by combining the liver and spleen measurements. This is the first
